Some Do’s and Don’ts of Vastu

You might be staying in any part of the world, but if you believe in Vastu shastra, it is recommended that you take professional advice from a Vastu expert before buying land. The Vastu consultant will examine if the land in question is as per the requirements.

Once the right land for the vastu is purchased, here are some do’s and don’ts to improve your living or working experience:

  • The residential vastu should be constructed in such a way that it gets maximum sunlight and fresh air naturally
  • After completing the construction (either residential or commercial vastu), adhere to established rituals as per your customs. This will awaken the vastu.
  • The front entrance should be clutter free
  • If trees are planted in the front portion, they should be chosen carefully
  • If you have a store room in your vastu, it should be in the north-western side
  • If you are building a factory, workshop or educational vastu, then the main door should never be in any corner
  • The parking space for cars should be reserved in the north-east corner
  • All items related that are combustible should be stored in the south-east. The south east of the vastu is said to be Agnikona
  • Water storage should be located in the north-east corner
  • If you are an idol worshipper, images or idols of two different deities should never face each other
  • If you want to use the vastu for commercial purpose, the rooms to take important decisions (like the meeting room, Admin room, decision makers’ cabins) should be in the north or east direction
  • The garbage and sewage disposal systems should be in the north-west or south-east corner of the structure
  • The master bedroom of the residential vastu should be in the south-west
  • Verdandas should always face the east or north. Their height should be less as comapred to the height of other rooms in the vastu
